New Children's Hospital, located on the Royal Victoria Hospital site, is a proposed state-of-the-art paediatric facility serving all of Northern Ireland.
In August 2018, a planning application LA04/2018/2157/F was submitted proposing the demolition of Bostock House and the development of a ten-storey children’s hospital, including 155 beds, ten operating theatres, and a paediatric emergency department with capacity for 45,000 annual attendances.
That application was approved by Belfast City Council in April 2019.
Construction of the new facility commenced in March 2025.
