The Hope Street site is a vacant surface car park owned by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), located at the corner of Hope Street and Great Victoria Street. The site is identified for a mixed-tenure, housing-led regeneration scheme that aims to deliver new homes, limited commercial space, and enhanced public realm. Public consultation held in November 2023 informed revised concept designs, which now include townhouses along Wellwood Street, a reduction in building height in some areas, and a stronger emphasis on social and affordable housing.
A market engagement event is scheduled for 11th June 2025, with the appointment of a developer targeted for July 2025. The developer will lead detailed design and planning stages, followed by phased construction.
