The buildings at 10–22 Ann Street and 8–12 Crown Entry date from the early 20th century to the 1960s. Historically used for retail and hospitality, the site has seen significant vacancy at upper levels.

Current occupiers include Little Wing Pizzeria (owned by Beannchor Group Ltd) and Spoon Street, with former occupiers including the now-closed Love and Death bar and Shoe Zone retail unit.

In March 2025, Beannchor Group Ltd, the hospitality group behind The Merchant Hotel, submitted planning application LA04/2025/0556/F for a hotel-led mixed-use development comprising a 41-room aparthotel, restaurant, bars, and associated works. The proposals include the addition of two upper storeys to the existing building at Nos. 16–22, facde restoration works to No. 10 Ann Street, and the creation of a new courtyard entrance from Ann Street providing access to a hotel lobby.

The development aims to enhance Crown Entry through the introduction of new licensed premises and revitalisation of the historic passageway.
